Messi is goalless in Copa América: Has MLS made him worse?

It's been an odd year for me, or any other person who covers European soccer professionally.

Throughout recent years, we had one consistent: Lionel Messi being superior to every other person. Meanwhile, we've seen different groups and players rise and fall.

Manchester City weren't a thing and presently they're everything. Real Madrid couldn't win the UCL and presently they can't quit winning the UCL. Liverpool were instructed by Roy Hodgson and afterward they were trained by Jurgen Klopp. Juventus were consigned, advanced and overwhelmed Serie A for 10 years and presently they can scarcely get once more into the UCL. Xavi played with Messi, then, at that point, he instructed Messi's previous group and got terminated by Messi's previous group. Gracious, and here's a sentence you could not have possibly accepted a long time back: Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema all play proficient soccer in Saudi Arabia.

In the midst of everything, however, there was the trustworthiness of Messi's greatness. You'd watch Manchester City and Liverpool play, then you'd turn upward and see that Messi had recently endeavored 12 shots and made eight possibilities in an hour and a half soccer match where Barcelona had 20 all out endeavors on goals. Gee, that Bayern-Dortmund game was fun - - hold up, Messi is changing over his free kicks like they're extra shots? Goodness, the Madrid derby was extreme! Furthermore, there's Messi, finishing 20 passes into the punishment region effortlessly.

More than a 15-year stretch, Messi drove Europe in joined goals and 8assist this seasons, completed top two out of 10 and top five of every 14. He was awesome, a large number of years after year.

Until this year: 2023-24 was the main season starting around 2004-05 when Messi didn't play something like 900 minutes in one of Europe's five top LEAGUE. In front of every European season, there were loads of inquiries without responds to, aside from one: "How great is Lionel Messi?"

Presently, however, we don't really have the foggiest idea. Messi is overwhelming MLS with Bury Miami, yet the association is a long way from what he used to look in Europe, and he's 37 years of age. It's been a year since we've seen him play against the best players on the planet and - - not at all like in the past when he was with Barcelona and PSG - - the Copa América is really a move forward in trouble based on the thing he's confronting all day every day.

Now that Argentina are two matches into the competition and Messi presently can't seem to score, what could his exhibitions at any point educate us concerning the inquiry we've never needed to reply: How great is Messi? Is it true or not that he is as yet awesome? Furthermore, has playing in MLS exacerbated him?
