'I haven't had a lot of time' - Luciano Spalletti owns up to fault for Italy's early Euro 2024 exit

Luciano Spalletti has accused the absence of time to set up his Italy team for the European Title as the motivation behind why they have crashed out.

The Italians were outflanked for the hour and a half against Switzerland and disintegrated to a 2-0 loss. The Azzurri battled to perform all through the group stage and did barely anything to bring their steps up in the round of 16. With a line of such miserable exhibitions, fingers will be pointed in the Italian camp and Spalletti has acknowledged the fault.

Talking after the game, Spalletti said: "The obligation is dig for what occurred. The shortcoming generally lies with the coach since I picked the players, and obviously it is a way where I need to make a few colleagues.

"I haven't had a lot of opportunity to get to know the players. The past coach have all had 20 games to test and get to know them, some even 30. A couple of additional games might have helped me."

Spalletti has just administered 14 games accountable for Italy subsequent to being named as the l head coach of the national team in August 2023. The Italian had quite recently driven Napoli to the Serie A title and was allowed the opportunity to deal with his national team side following his takeoff from Naples.

Regardless of running out matter-of-factly into Switzerland, Spalletti resists the urge to panic about his situation as the Italian coach. He made sense of: "I'm conversing with [the Italian football president Gabriele Gravina] in light of the fact that he has consistently acted towards me like an extraordinary individual and a serious expert."
